3) Once your dog is outside of their enclosure and going to the designated spot when they need to go potty, begin rewarding them with treats or toys when they do. You will also want to praise them regularly during these early stages in order for them to associate good behavior with rewards.
4) Once your dog is doing well on command outside of their enclosure and knows how to go to the designated spot when they need to go potty, start training them on the potty itself. First, place a small number of dog feces in the bottom of their bowl (if your pup is already housetrained, this step may not be necessary). Once your dog has placed their poop inside of the bowl, give them a treat or toy. Gradually increase the difficulty level by adding more difficult objects such as rocks or bones into their potty area. Be sure to keep a close eye on your dog in order to make sure they are following instructions correctly.
